I saw this on a bumper sticker and liked it:

"All who wander are not lost”

There are, indeed, many roads leading to the future.

Message to Parents,

I am delighted to launch this web page as a way to communicate with you about matters of interest as we make our way through the school year. On behalf of all of us at B.T.E.C., I want to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your student’s high school experience. They are an exciting lot, both individually and collectively, to say the least! We hope you sense their excitement over the skills they are developing, the relationships they are forming, the growth they are experiencing and the career and personal opportunities they are forging. I also hope that you, too, feel welcome here and trust that you will not hesitate to contact us with any concerns you may have. Thank you.

Let’s talk about discipline....

This is one of my favorite topics! When a student does something that may not be in his or her best interest, all kinds of opportunities unfold:

I get to meet your student.

I get to meet you.

We all get to help the student figure out how to fix the situation he or she has created.

We let consequences do the teaching.

We focus on helping the student develop the desire to make better decisions in the future.

If some of this sounds familiar, you may be aware of the Love & Logic Institute right down the road in Golden. If not, welcome aboard! Discipline with Love & Logic is the underpinning for addressing minor discipline issues at Bollman. More serious matters follow traditional routes. Either way, our desire is to help students be responsible, self-disciplined, honorable, skilled and happy. I believe that it’s helpful for you to know how we address discipline issues at Bollman in order for us to all support and guide students through their teen years in a positive manner, even when things may not seem so rosy. Need a little help yourself? Love & Logic is for parents too. You can find more information at love&logic.com, or call them at 1-800-338-4065

An interesting bit of information....

Here’s something you may not know: Bollman has approximately 150 community business, industry and professional partners who support our programs and are directly or indirectly involved in your student’s education. Isn’t that something?!

We're going to have a great year!
