My name is Lynette Havens and I have been an instructor for many years. I graduated from High School in Fort Collins in 1976 and went to the Larimer County Voc-Tech Center in Fort Collins in 1977.
I received my first job in 1978 at Platte River Power Authority as a drafter. I worked for PRPA (Including the Rawhide Power Plant) for 6 years and later worked for Tri State Generation and Transmission in Broomfield.
I started learning AutoCAD in 1986 and ironically became a teacher at Larimer County Voc-Tech in 1988. My boss was my former teacher. It was a great experience. The Voc-Tech Center later became Front Range Community College. I taught there for 6 years and was hired by Aims Community College in 1995.
I have had the pleasure of working at the Bollman Technical Education Center since February 2004. I have taught CAD 1, CAD2 and Applied Technology. It's been an awesome experience.
I received a BS in Technical Education from CSU in 1993 and an MS in Technical and Industrial Education from CSU in 1996. I have found this training to be priceless as I continue to expand my knowledge in my field as well as continuing to expand the knowledge of each of my students.
My hobbies include playing music and any type of physical activity such as cycling, and hiking.
I love teaching and am excited about what each new day will bring.
