Graphic Design 1

Graphic Design I teaches students the basics of graphic design. Course work and projects are designed to give each student a well-rounded understanding of the skills needed to become a proficient designer. Projects are designed to increase students' artistic abilities and creativity using a variety of mediums such a ink and marker. In addition, student projects reflect the use and knowledge of graphic design software programs. Students begin to produce a portfolio of their best work and a resume. Students become proficient in the operation of sophisticated MacIntosh graphic design software.

Notes

This program is open to 11th and 12th grade students only.

Class meets for a double period daily.

Instructor recommendation/approval are required prior to enrollment in Graphic Design I.

Students who pre-register for Graphic Design I are required to attend a spring orientation session.

Letters of invitation will be mailed to all applicants.

Students accepted into Graphic Design I receive notification by mail.

Drawing and keyboarding are strongly recommended as a pre-requisites to Graphic Design I.

This is a two-credit course.
